New Zealand - Auckland - Coromandel Adventures- Olive Motel - UMU Cafe - Cathedral Cove - Hot Springs - California Girls
I fell in love with New Zealand. The beauty of the landscape and the warmth and charm of the people. The photo above is on the tour from Coromandel to Cathedral Cove. I love benches. The destinations were fantastic but the stunning beauty of the countryside - just breathtaking!!! And Green!!
When we travel, we do not rent a car. We are subject to busses, trains, and planes. We arrived in Auckland at midnight and started our journey out to Coromandel to meet up with the tour to Cathedral Cove and the Hot Springs at 7:30am. Not much time to sleep and check into our accommodations. The 2 1/2 hour drive to Coromandel - I'll never forget it. First half traversing the countryside and the second half right along the water. Literally, the road had been partially washed out from a storm.
Coromandel - is one of the most charming places I've ever been. I have never felt so safe anywhere in my life. The Olive Motel was charming and new, or at least newly remodeled. The Olive Motel had a refrigerator and a kitchenette. It was so nice new and simple, I thought, I want to live here and run this motel. The UMU Cafe was delicious and our waitress was the one who told us the Olive Motel did indeed have a refrigerator so we could take our leftovers back to the motel with us. Charming!!!
The reason we were in New Zealand was to head to Cathedral Cove and the Hot Springs. But I loved the drive. I loved the tour guide. The New Zealanders have such pride in their country.
If you have the change - go to Coromandel. The tour group Coromandel Adventures was fantastic too.
