Balboa Island - Newport Beach - Southern California Charming Island

Balboa Island is one of Southern California's little treasures.  I have always loved going to this island.  One of my favorite things about the Balboa is the bay walk all the way around the island.

This photo show just how close everything is - bay, beach, walk way and benches.  This next one show the main shopping street on the island.

I love benches and coffee.

If you are traveling to Southern California, Balboa Island is a wonderful place to visit.  Either to stay or stroll around.  Marine street is the main shopping area on the island.  There are a few more shops down by the ferry.

The ferry goes between the island and the peninsula.

Back to Marine street there are a number of places to eat and drink.  And a number of clothing shops and knick knack shops.  All very beach oriented.  It is a beach vacation location.

If you take the ferry across to the peninsula it is a very short walk to the ocean.

During the holidays many of the homes that are on the bay front are decorated with festive lights.  Beautiful to see at night too.
