AVALON - CATALINA - IN THE WINTER - GORGEOUS!!!!



Avalon in the winter - WOW!  Just beautiful.  Our family was there just for the day, but what a day.  The sun was out and rather warm for December.  It was very nice.  I love Catalina in the summer it is just a little slice of heaven on earth, but I have to admit it was pretty perfect in December too.

I haven't posted in awhile due to a family tragedy, but I intend to be regularly posting about wonderful places in California.

As the sign says Roger's Gardens has nursery, patio, landscape, home accents, gifts, and holiday items.  The Farmhouse is a restaurant located within Roger's Gardens.  The restaurant is fantastic.  Reservations are a good idea. The real beauty of the place are the many paths wondering through the nursery. There are so many little gems like the Farmhouse Restaurant in Newport Beach, it is fun to have a blog to show them off.

Canada! Oh Canada! Niagara Falls - Epic!!!

OMG!!  Niagara Falls is amazing!!  It was awe-inspiring.  There aren't enough words to describe how wonderfully beautiful it is.  I took many many photos but the one posted here is from the window table at the restaurant second level.  Magical.  Canadians are so proud of there falls, and rightly so.  I'm going to try to post a 12 sec video, so I hope it works. If given the opportunity to see this wondrous sight - do it. We were staying in Toronto downtown area, in late December.  Fairmont Royal York Hotel - Loved it. This is a photo of the hotel when we checked in at 11:00 pm.  Helpful hint they have room service at that hour.  Yay!! The hotel is located across the street from the train station and a few blocks from the CN tower. To get to Niagara Falls, we hiked up to the bus terminal and took a megabus to the falls.  It was reasonably priced. We thought this was cute.  Hiking up to bus terminal, here is an early morning photo of an ice rink.
