JPL - Jet Propulsion Laboratory - California

 I went on a fantastic tour of JPL / NASA in La Cañada - Flintridge area.  It was a three hour tour - we covered a lot of territory and hiked a lot of stairs.  My body had a wonderful workout, as well as a mental workout.  The work they are accomplishing at JPL is awe-inspiring.  JPL has scaled models of many of their projects on display for the public.  Impressive!!  I highly recommend scheduling a tour if you haven't already experienced it.  And I count it as a workout.

Balboa Island is one of Southern California's little treasures.  I have always loved going to this island.  One of my favorite things about the Balboa is the bay walk all the way around the island. This photo show just how close everything is - bay, beach, walk way and benches.  This next one show the main shopping street on the island. I love benches and coffee. If you are traveling to Southern California, Balboa Island is a wonderful place to visit.  Either to stay or stroll around.  Marine street is the main shopping area on the island.  There are a few more shops down by the ferry. The ferry goes between the island and the peninsula. Back to Marine street there are a number of places to eat and drink.  And a number of clothing shops and knick knack shops.  All very beach oriented.  It is a beach vacation location. Hong Kong Disneyland - Hollywood Hotel - Such a Fun Adventure in Asia!!!

Such an adventure!!!  I have been lucky enough to grow up in Southern California close to Disneyland in Anaheim, so you can only imagine the excitement of heading to Hong Kong Disneyland.  Oh My Goodness!!! We had so much fun.  Everyone was so delightful.  There were a lot of cast members that spoke English, so negotiating around was extremely easy.  The shows that we saw had the speaking parts in Chinese with English Subtitles to the side of the stage.  It was very easy to follow along.  I laughed when I realized all the songs were in English.  Very fun for us!! Winnie the Pooh is always a fan favorite.  It was in my opinion a much better ride than the Anaheim Winnie the Pooh and I do love the Anaheim ride. Beautiful Day in Newport Harbor - Newport Beach - Orange County - California - Boating

It was a gorgeous day!!  Sky was clear, wind was picking up and the engines were working.  Always a good thing. As you can see the wind was a little lighter when we started and by the time we were heading back to the slip it had picked up. We were able to accomplish our goal - so it was a very good day!!  When we were back in the dock slip we found out small craft warning was expected for later in the day.  So glad we got our work done early. The first photo is of the Pavilion.  I just love taking photos of it.  Ever since high school. If you ever make it to Newport Beach - I think one of the nicest places to walk is around the perimeter of Balboa Island.  You feel like you have the view of a bayfront  house without spending millions.
